You don't need to watch the Syracuse game on Saturday
I am a big fan of Syracuse basketball, especially this year as they are playing so well. This Saturday is supposed to be a big game against Villanova, but I could care less if they win or lose. The goal of any sport's regular season is to get to the post season. After that it is to win the championship. Whether Syracuse wins or loses, they still get to the post season. If they lose to a currently ranked top 10 team then they won't drop that much. Conversely if they win they won't move up that much. Does it really matter if they are a number 1 seed or a three? Either way they will need to face some tough competion to win it all. The same goes for the Big East Championship. Play a couple of games to stay in the flow but then lose so the team doesn't get worn out. A few years from now nobady will remember if they won the Big East regular season or the tournament. The NCAA tournament is what really matters.

please get a clue....winning is everything is sports..provided you play an honest ethical game...if it does not matter..why don't you call JB and the rest of the team and tell them to start the third string....
your a typical fan..as you quote...I'm even a bigger fan when they are winning...
each season a team has goals...usually they are...go undefeated....win the league...win the Big East and win the NCAA....life is about accomplishing your goals....you really need to wake up...
from an Orange fan in Souther California who very rarely misses a game...hunting down the local bar to see if it is on TV...my family knows better to schedule anything during an SU game...I bleed Orange....

You see this in every sport. Resting the guys at the end of the season to make sure they are fresh and more importantly, don't get injured. I'm just saying that JB should think about that. Winning at all cost in the regular season and falling flat in the post season doen't make much sense.
I must say I agree. Just because the march madness is more important. Villanovia game this saturday with jim boehiem. resting players minus the starters. no 16 seed will beat any seeds, just like when syracuse did
Hey Phil - You can;t be much of a fan if you "Don't care if they win or lose". TO these kids, they care if they win or lose. It's the difference of going into the tourney with a wind at their back or an uphill climb. I wouldn't mind if you don't watch it, that's your opinion, but don't call yourself a big fan, bercause big fans try to support their team in every effort. You should do the same, regardless of the outcome. I'm sure if you're kids had a game you would want them to win every time, right? Your a real winner Phil.....and you've got that glass half empty outlook. Get your thoughts straight before writing this in Orange country.

I watched the entire SU game last night and felt like I was part of history in the making. It was much worth watching!
They did look good in that game
